My name is Hannah Schmenk; I am in 4th grade and live in the Houston, Texas area. I have hurt for so long, that I canít remember when I didnít hurt. The pain became more noticeable when I was four. The doctors all kept saying that it was growing pains. I didnít think that growing should hurt this bad.
Finally, when I was 8, I was diagnosed with poly-articular juvenile idiopathic arthritis. I have a nice Rheumatologist who helps me to manage my arthritis with medications.
This year I am participating in and fundraising for the Arthritis Foundationís Jingle Bell Run/Walk. My goal is for my team, the Snow Dogs, to raise $25,000.00 to help the foundation find a cure.
There are more than 300,000 children with Arthritis and 25,000 of them are in the state of Texas. I just want to raise one dollar for every child. I canít do it without your help. Please visit my team page to donate!
